"I have to." Shadow looked up at River. A loud yowl sounded from the dark woods followed by stomping coming towards them. He gasped & turned to River, "Get out of here quick!"
Shadow swallowed after seeing River leave, knowing she might not come back. He turned & face the steps. Lowthar stomped over to Shadow his large, furry figure seemed threatening. "Why did you leave the woods?!!" "I....just wanted to see what it was like here..." Shadow coward abit at his boom. Lowthar sneered "Fine." he stormed off.
River’s eyes widened. “That was your…” her voice trailed off and she looked disapprovingly at the woods. “I guess it’s not my place to say anything…” she muttered.

“No you’re not,” River said, walking forward and stepping beside him. “You’re a werecat. There’s a lot of them,” she said, leaving off the part where most of them kill things in the Dark Woods.

River smiled a little, the gave the Dark Woods one last glance before turning back to Castiel, who was sitting on a rock watching them. “Let’s go home,” she said to him quietly.

Shadow's ear twitched, he frowned abit & turned to leave. His tail dragged on the ground behind him. He wished he could go with her but he knew he could hurt someone.
River knelt down and picked up Castiel. She started walking south of the stream when she glanced at the darkening sky. “Oh, great,” she said. Something was flying full speed ahead through the clouds.

River made a face as the thing got closer. At first, it looked like a golden ball of light, but as it got closer she could tell it was a man. River put her face in her left hand and rubbed her eyes. “I can explain, Parker,” she said as the man got closer.

Shadow walked to the werecat territory. "Where have you been?!" Lowthar growled at him. "I-I..was......hunting." Shadow hoped his lie would work. Lowthar raised an eyebrow "Very well, get ready for tonight."
“What were you doing out here?!” Parker shouted. River rolled her eyes and petted Castiel’s fur. “We just went for a walk-” “In the Dark Woods?” Parker snapped, landing down beside her. “We didn’t go in!” River shouted back.

“You know what kinds of things live out here, River!” Parker said. River looked down. “They’re not all bad,” she muttered. Parker didn’t seem to hear her. He turned around and started walking the same way he had come. “Let’s go,” he said.

Shadow waited with the other werecats for the sun to set. Finally the sun set & all the werecats went to their dens. Shadow whimpered as he felt his body start to change. He went outside of the werecat territory & tried to open the ball.
Parker immediately stopped. “Did one attack you?” he asked. He quickly grabbed her arms and started looking her over. “Did you get bit?” “What? No,” River said. “I… never mind,” “Where’s the ball I gave you? If you did get bit-” “I didn’t get bit!” River said, angry now.

Shadow tried desperately to open the golden ball. Tears streamed down his face from the intense pain. The ball opened releasing some sparkling dust over him, the pain stopped. After the transformation was over he still had his normal mind.
When River and Parker had gotten back to angel territory, River immediately went to her room, looking out the window down at the dark ground. She knew that when it got dark werewolves and werecats went hunting. She wondered if Shadow would, too.

Shadow took a moment to collect himself before returning to his territory. Lowthar stood up on a large rock, "We gather tonight as one, for we are one & we hunt as one." He glanced at Shadow, "ON WITH THE HUNT!!!" All the werecats ran out into the enchanted woods.
River heard Parker close the doors to their small stone cabin in the Angel territory, and she figured that meant that the werecats had started their hunt.

Most of the angels were inside their rooms this late, but River still watched out the window. Castiel hopped of her lap and pushed the door open with his nose, stepping outside the small house.
